## Coverage Types

### Mortgage Protection
Term life insurance designed to cover your mortgage balance if you pass away.
Ensures your family can stay in their home. Typically 15-30 year terms matching
the mortgage duration.

### Final Expense
Whole life insurance for burial, funeral, and end-of-life costs. Typically
$5,000-$50,000 in coverage. No medical exam options available. Builds cash value
over time.

### Income Replacement
Term life insurance to replace lost income for your dependents. Coverage amount
typically 10-12x annual salary. Available in 10, 15, 20, or 30 year terms.

### Retirement Savings (IUL)
Indexed Universal Life insurance that combines life insurance protection with
tax-advantaged cash value growth. Cash value is tied to stock market index
performance with a guaranteed floor (no losses). Can be used as supplemental
retirement income.

### Guaranteed Income (Annuity)
Fixed or indexed annuity for guaranteed retirement income. Provides a steady
monthly payment for life or a specified period. Not technically life insurance
but often paired with it for comprehensive planning.

### Legacy / Wealth Transfer
Permanent whole life insurance for intergenerational wealth transfer. Death
benefit passes to beneficiaries tax-free. Used for estate planning, charitable
giving, and legacy creation.

## SGLI vs. Private Coverage

SGLI (Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance) provides:
- $400,000 maximum coverage (as of 2024)
- Low-cost group rates while serving
- Coverage ends 120 days after separation (VGLI conversion available)

Private coverage through Valor Legacies professionals can supplement SGLI:
- No coverage cap (higher amounts available)
- Portable — you own the policy regardless of military status
- Rates locked in at purchase age (younger = cheaper)
- Cash value options (IUL, whole life) not available through SGLI
- Can be tailored to specific needs (mortgage, income, legacy)

## The Process

1. **Fill out the form** (less than 60 seconds)
   - Basic identity info (name, DOB, state)
   - Coverage interest selection
   - Military status and branch
   - Contact info (email, phone)
   - Consent checkboxes (TCPA compliant)

2. **Get matched** (within 1 business day)
   - A licensed insurance professional reviews your information
   - They specialize in military-family coverage
   - They contact you via phone or email

3. **Review your options** (free, no obligation)
   - The professional explains available options

All agent endpoints (except /schema) require:
  Authorization: Bearer <AGENT_API_KEY>

API keys are issued to authorized AI agent developers. Each key is labeled
with the agent identity (e.g., "claude", "gpt4", "custom-bot").

### Endpoints

#### 1. POST /api/agent/consent
Creates a consent request that the human must confirm.

**Why this exists**: TCPA requires explicit, informed consent before contact.
AI agents cannot submit leads without the human's approval.

**Next step**: The human must visit `confirmationUrl` and click to confirm.
The page will display a confirmed token that the agent can use.

#### 2. GET /api/agent/consent?token=<token>
Human-facing confirmation page. When the human visits this URL:
- Displays what they're authorizing (scope, agent name)
- Shows a confirmed token on success
- The agent can then use this confirmed token for subsequent API calls

#### 3. POST /api/agent/leads
Submit a life insurance lead.

**Required**: Confirmed consent token with scope "lead-submission" or "both".

**Lead Scoring Tiers**:
- Hot (85-100): Immediate follow-up
- Warm (70-84): Same-day follow-up
- Standard (55-69): Next business day
- Cool (0-54): Batch queue

#### 4. POST /api/agent/register
Register the human as a client (lead buyer) on the platform.

**Required**: Confirmed consent token with scope "account-registration" or "both".

#### 5. GET /api/agent/schema
Returns the full OpenAPI 3.1 schema for all agent endpoints.
No authentication required. Cached for 1 hour.

### Rate Limits
- Leads: 10 per minute per API key
- Consent: 10 per minute per API key
- Registration: 5 per minute per API key

### Error Codes
- 400: Invalid request (missing/invalid fields)
- 401: Missing or invalid API key
- 403: Consent not confirmed or wrong scope
- 409: Duplicate (lead already submitted or account exists)
- 429: Rate limit exceeded (Retry-After header included)
- 500: Server error (retry)
- 503: Service unavailable
